- End: Thu, February 22, 2024 - 21:00 UTC
Advanced techniques for editing and contributing to Fedora Docs
Tools I will demonstrate: command line interface (CLI), AsciiDoc, git, containers (i.e. Podman/Docker), GitLab/Pagure, any text editor
Abstract: Learn how to edit Fedora Docs like a pro in this tutorial session. This session will introduce a command line interface-driven approach of editing and contributing to Fedora Docs sites.
You will learn how to clone a Fedora Docs repo, make changes and preview them with containers, commit them with git, and open a Pull/Merge Request. Attendees should leave the workshop with a basic understanding of how to make contributions to Fedora Docs sites, preview their changes locally, and propose changes for review to other editors. No prior knowledge of git or containers is required, although it is expected to have a basic knowledge of writing with the AsciiDoc markup language.

How to join: Fedora Chat Documentation Room (#docs:fedora.im)
Fedora Documentation Room is open to a Matrix account from any homeserver.
If you are new to the Fedora Project and don’t have a Matrix account, we recommend you to create a Fedora Account and connect it with Matrix Account for best experience. Using a Matrix account with Fedora space (Fedora Chat) will make navigation of Fedora rooms easier and help access to Fedora tools such as Pagure (Git forge), Weblate (Translation), Fedocal (team calendar), and Discourse (discussion forum).
