Join us for this hour as we have a roundtable introduction, review the projects that Fedora is offering this year, and get to know more about the Fedora community. This is also a great time for questions-and-answers too.

  • Lightning round! Give a brief introduction of yourself. Also tell us, how familiar are you with open source? With Fedora?
• Reminders & tips for successful contribution.
  • Signing the Fedora Project Contributor Agreement (FPCA).
  • Updating info in your FAS account, e.g. Matrix IDs and time zones.
  • Helping out other applicants helps you!
• About Fedora Mentored Projects. What projects are running this Outreachy round and who are our mentors?
• About the Fedora Marketing Team. What we do and how we add value to the community.
• Advice about using AI and Chat-GPT during the application phase. You can use it… but use it with caution! Listen to tips and advice from the Fedora mentor team.
• Next steps and opportunities. Where to find new tasks, how to sign up for taking on new work, and leaving room for your own creativity to take on new ideas.
